Intellectual property

The copyright aspect for the informations presented on this site is multifaceted. First and foremost, we present recipes and cooking methods on this site whose original creator or invention date is long lost in time. These are traditional recipes, and prescription delays for any form of intellectual property has been passed a long time ago in most cases, therefore they belong to public domain. What we do perceive as our own intellectual property however is the actual text of each individual recipe, which is at the time of publishing, unique; as it is us who wrote it. We also own rights to any photographic material presented on this site, as we do take our own pictures to present you the most accurate depiction of the desired outcome of each recipe. We also, on rare occasions, purchase the rights to use photos from online photo banks.

A third aspect about intellectual property applies to the videos published on our site. We do publish occasionnally our own videos that we made ourselves, but more frequently we will publish links to videos shot by someone else, and hosted on other community servers (such Youtube.com). It is our perception that any videos posted on Youtube.com that has the "embed" code generating feature enabled is meant for other web designers to come and post their videos on other sites. Any person making a video public on Youtube.com and that doesn't want the material be posted on other sites is invited to disable the "embed" feature. This being said, we will always attempt to contact the perceived owner of the video and ask for permission to publish it on our site before embedding that code. Should we have posted a video by mistake, while the rightful owner of the intellectual property disagrees, we ask the owner to kindly request removal of the material posted by mistake, by contacting us. Here the method of choice for such a removal request, due to the gravity of this matter, would be a phone call, but a succesful email can also be sufficient. A succesful email is an email that will have reached, be opened and be read by the administrator of this site; in which case a reply will be sent back to sender acknowledging reading the request. The telephone number of the owner of this site can be found in the contact information of the domain name. Email is seen as an unefficient method to contact us because of all spam filters which may cause the removal request be blocked or sent to a spam or junk e-mail folder and therefore be missed.
